Donate FAQ's
Why give to Computational Medicine at UCLA?
In order to sustain and expand our programs, the department needs to build a robust fundraising program that supports our outstanding faculty and their cutting-edge research.
What sources of funding does the department currently have?
We rely on a combination of sources to maintain our fiscal health. As a department within the school, the DGSOM naturally supports the department. Additionally, we have several grants from the NIH to support our research and training programs, such as the Computational Genomics Summer Institute.
Additionally, we rely on the generous philanthropy from individuals and foundations to support faculty recruitment and retention, our state-of-the-art facilities, and promising nascent research critical for the field but without enough preliminary data for submission to the NIH or NSF.
Can I designate my donation to a specific research area or faculty member?
If you are interested in supporting the advancement of computational medicine, the highest impact is through our current giving fund. This will allow our leadership to identify and fund our priority and high impact areas. If you prefer to support a specific area of research we are happy to help you identify where your valuable gift will have the most impact and can establish a special fund to be designated toward supporting your area of interest.
Is there a minimum gift amount?
All contributions, large or small, are welcome. We are focused on building a long term community of support and appreciate donations in any amount so long as it is meaningful to you. Your personal commitment to our work is equally as important to your financial commitment.
I want to make a large gift to the department of Computational Medicine. How do I proceed?
Thank you for wanting to invest in our work. Please contact Jamie Lynn, Executive Director of UCLA Health Sciences Development, to discuss your interests. She can answer your questions, provide information on our existing and upcoming programs, and describe our greatest needs.

Is my gift tax deductible?
The Department of Computational Medicine is part of UCLA which is a public, nonprofit educational institution exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the IRS code. All gifts to IPAM are 100% tax deductible.
Will my employer match my gift?
