CGSI 2024 Videos Now Available
The Department of Computational Medicine has sponsored the Computational Genomics Summer Institute (CGSI) with funding from the NIH since 2016. In July, more than 160 researchers and trainees from a number of disciplines (statistics, bioengineering, math, computer science, genetics, and others) came to UCLA to participate in CGSI 2024. Program director Dr. Eleazar Eskin, the organizing committee, and the team of staff worked hard to create a training program that included cutting-edge scientific talks by experts and rising stars, stimulating discussion, and an opportunity to be part of a community of researchers in the field of computational genomics.
As always, Computational Medicine devoted considerable resources in professional video recording of the talks, so that participants can re-watch talks that piqued their interest and trainees from around the world can learn from the expertise of CGSI faculty. The videos of CGSI 2024 are now available on the CGSI Resources page, and on the CGSI YouTube channel.
Each short program dedicated some of the week to concurrent sessions with themes such as Population and Statistical Genetics, Emerging Technologies, Genomic Biobanks and Machine Learning in Health. Many of these talks are also available online; those that are missing will be added in the coming weeks and months, with the permission of the presenters.
Computational Medicine is proud to partner with the Safra Institute at Tel Aviv University and the Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning Consortium to Advance Health Equity and Researcher Diversity (AIM-AHEAD) to provide this opportunity to their trainees.
The dates of CGSI 2025 are July 9 to August 1. The application and more information will be available on the CGSI webpage around December 1.
